The Young Married Couples Ministry at Grace.

We really do believe these Core 4 Habits are key to repairing broken marriages and to making strong
marriages even stronger.

Have Serious Fun

Having fun together as a couple isn’t just something extra. It’s essential. Enjoying your marriage is the
best way to protect it. (Proverbs 5:18)

Respect and Love
Of the few commands God gives for married couples, the one to respect and love is repeated most
often. When we understand the interplay between love and respect, the truth really will set us free.
(Ephesians 5:21-33)

Love God First
One day an expert in the law asked Jesus, “Which is the greatest commandment?” He answered,
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” And then
He said there was a second commandment like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Loving God is the
foundation for loving others well. Since there is no greater laboratory for practicing how to love others
than marriage, loving God is the foundation for a great married life. (Matthew 22:35-40)

Practice Your Promise
We made a big promise when we said, “I do.” Our spouses trusted we would do what we promised to
do—to love them and stay with them no matter what. Knowing that commitment is still there is vital to
every marriage. (Proverbs 5:18; Malachi 2:15)
